Important Notices
- [04-30-03 20:30]
I will be in my office from 1:00pm - 2:30pm on Thursday, May 1. This is
a correction from the day of the final, since I need to be at an exam
at 3pm. Please try to come early.
- [04-22-03 09:45]
Tonight's lecture will consist of project presentations, and one last
important topic. There will not be any HTML presentation of the
material, so you must come to class if you want to be prepared for the
Final Exam (Tuesday 4/29/03 8-10pm).
- [04-15-03 00:15]
Final Project guidelines are available at
project.html. I will go over this
and answer any questions during office hours or in class
tomorrow.
- [04-07-03 09:15]
Assignment #9 may not be available until Tuesday. Spend recitation
time working on your projects this week.
- [03-31-03 08:40]
- Since I will not be in town on Thursday night, I am planning on
having a short makeup question for the last question on the test.
You must be present to take it. There will be not retakes for this,
as it is a bonus. It will be out of 30 points and will replace the
grade you have currently received on the last question of the test.
It will cover the same material as was on the test, but it may
be different from the previous question. I will talk more about this
in class on Tuesday.
- Also important to note is that there are no new assignments for this
week. In recitation, you can get help with understanding assignment
8, so that you can better prepare for Thursday's makeup question.
- I still have not received each group's topic for the project.
These were due Friday, so please send it to me as soon as possible.
- [03-27-03 09:35]
Please link to my sample passwd file for Assignment #8. I have had
numerous emails to the effect that the first file didn't have a
matching password for the user "mike". The current file is correct.
Also, don't forget about the midterm
tonight.
- [03-24-03 09:21]
I have uploaded Assignment #8
to the website. This assignment has to do with password checking,
and is very similar to what we did in lecture 18. Remember that the
material from this assignment will be covered on Thursday's Exam,
so you should try to finish this up as soon as you can.
- [03-17-03 09:35]
I have posted Assignment #7.
We have not yet covered some of the material for it (like using
ereg()), so just try to do as much of it as possible. If you like
getting ahead, then you can look at the documentation links on the
assignment page for how you can handle that part.
- [03-03-03 13:45]
I have posted this week's assignment. It is the
Preliminary Project Guidelines.
You will be responsible for emailing me your group member list by
this Friday afternoon. Your task over Spring Break is to think about
a topic for your project.
- [02-25-03 07:45]
Take a look at Sample Output
for Assignment #6. Your code does not have to match exactly
(e.g. spacing and such), but the general information should be the
same.
- [02-24-03 12:45]
Assignment #6 has been
posted online. It requires you to dynamically generate a table
using PHP. It also requires the use of arrays which we will talk
about on Tuesday. If you start early on the assignment though, just
wait until class before emailing me any questions about it.
- [02-17-03 09:00]
Assignment #5 has been
posted online now. This assignment requires a great deal of more
thinking, and less creativity than the past assignments. You will be
parsing a date/time string for
various pieces of useful information. Start taking a look at it,
so we can discuss any questions you might have during my office
hours or in class.
- [02-04-03 20:30]
Jason Austin has told me that you can use
mail.cs.fsu.edu
as the POP3 server for Outlook/Eudora style mail clients.
There is no smtp server available though, so you will be
able to receive mail from the address, but not send from it
using these clients.
- [02-04-03 18:00]
I am posting a link to the page of
XHTML keywords that will be
available during the test. You should know whether each is
a tag, a parameter or a value. You will get this exact same
sheet on test day. It looks bad because it is a pdf made from
a postscript file. If you want a nicer looking copy, you
can try this one, but you will need
a postscript viewer.
