Creating a website: Creating an FSU account

Creating an FSU Garnet or Mailer account

In order to publish your website on FSU's server, you will need a Garnet or Mailer account. You need this account to connect to the FSU web server using secure shell (ssh). You may already have a Garnet or Mailer account. If you have an FSU email address that ends in "@mailer.fsu.edu or "@garnet.fsu.edu" then you already have one of these accounts and can move on to the next step in creating a website.

For students, your account name is usually your initials, followed by your year of entry into the University, sometimes followed by a letter if you have the same initials as someone else with the same year of entry. For example, someone with the initials abc who entered in 2007 would have the username abc07 (unless there is more than one person with the initials abc that entered in 2007, in which case they would each be assigned a different username such as abc07a, abc07b, etc.).

If you do not already have an account, click here to activate it.
